P4 - Vanwall

9 wins from 28 starts

3.111 rpw / 4.285 ppr

The first British built car to win an F1 race and the winner of the inaugural world championship in 1958. It was also their last seriously engaged year. Proprietor Tony Vandervell fell ill and was advised to rest. Further, he did not get over the death of his driver Stuart Lewis-Evans at the Moroccan GP in '58. Lewis-Evans died as a result of the Vanwall's engine seizing and throwing him into the barriers where the car burst into flames. Lewis-Evans died of his burns six days later.
